Helping Dan & Meg

Dan and Meg bought their first home realizing it was a fixer-upper. They redid the floors, the basement, built a garage, installed new appliances and counter-top with the thought in mind of how it needed to look when it was complete. They knew they had quite a bit of work in front of them to have the dream house they always wanted at a price they could afford. Next was the kitchen.

Meg & Dan decided to paint the existing cabinetry but several of the doors had to be remade to the correct width and size and routed to match the existing cabinetry. That’s where Sugar Creek Woodworking came into the picture.

Remaking Cabinet Doors

While the doors were being remade, Dan and Meg filled holes left by discarded hardware, primed and painted the drawers and face fronts and Daisy patiently waited for the disruptive activity in her house to be complete.

The new doors were delivered and they were primed, painted and installed.

A “refreshed” kitchen mostly done by Dan and Meg with a little help from Sugar Creek Woodworking. Beautiful!

The Story of Mary & Earl

Earl & Mary had four old chairs that came from Star Union Brewery Company in Peru, IL where Mary’s grandfather had worked. The chairs were heavily painted and three of them needed major repairs to the seats.
When Mary & Earl started to strip one of the chairs they were not getting as clean of a stripping job as they desired. Mary & Earl brought the chairs to us to strip and make repairs. Then they took them back to sand and finish.
Mary & Earl then applied the final finish using a natural colored stain and two coats of high gloss poly.
